England face Slovakia in Euros Suggestion Saka should play at left-back Arsenal winger knocks back idea WHAT HAPPENED?
After England's goalless draw with Slovenia, Arsenal legend Ian Wright suggested Gunners ace Saka move to left-back – where he played earlier on in his career – to accommodate the likes of Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer in Gareth Southgate's team going forward. However, the 22-year-old seems to have pooh-poohed that idea.

The right-winger told : "No, obviously I love Ian Wright. He says so many great things about me but I don't think putting me out of position was the solution. I think we can talk about this but it's in Gareth's hands and we just all have to trust whatever Gareth selects on the day."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
England have struggled for form in the Euros so far, despite topping their group earlier this week. In their three matches to date, Southgate's system has looked uninspiring and lacking dynamism. But, if they want to progress further in Euro 2024, the Three Lions may need to make changes – both in terms of personnel and their formation.
