The Argentina international has admitted that he preferred to warm up in tracksuit bottoms while he was at Brighton but was convinced to ditch them for shorts when fellow Reds hero Salah had a pop at him early on in his Anfield career.

He told club media: "When I was in Brighton, I used to wear trousers. Then I cam here and I remember against Sheffield [United] we went out to the warm up and I was wearing a hat and trousers and Mo Salah told me 'What are you doing? Why are you wearing that?' So since that day, I never wore trousers… Only because of Mo."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Why Salah had such an issue with his team-mate wearing tracksuit bottoms is not known, but the change has hardly hindered Mac Allister this year. He has been an important part for the Premier League title hopefuls this season, scoring three goals and setting up four more in the English top flight this season.
