The defender showed terrific athleticism to get there above former Spurs man Aurier after the Ivorians failed to clear a corner in the 38th minute at at Alassane Ouattara Stadium.

Despite falling behind, Ivory Coast secured a superb comeback win thanks to second-half goals from Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller as the hosts scooped the trophy in front of raucous 60,000 fans on Sunday night. The Ivorians picked up their third AFCON title, following their triumphs in 1992 and 2015.
WHAT NEXT?
Ivory Coast, who sacked manager Jean-Louis Gasset following their 4-0 loss to Equatorial Guinea in the group stages last month and replaced him with his assistant Emerse Fae, will hope to defend their AFCON title when the tournament takes place again in the summer of 2025 in Morocco.
